I work with dyes that are especially formulated for silk and natural fibers. My designs include nature, fantasy, and abstract motifs - often in bright joyful colors. My purpose in painting is to bring a sense of serenity and playfulness to the person who is wearing or viewing my art.

My first career was at the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs where I spent over 25 years in strategic planning for the VA national health care delivery system. Prior to retirement, I discovered and fell in love with silk painting and decided to pursue it as my second career. I took classes, read books, and painted and painted and painted to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to work in this field of art and to develop my own personal style.

Silk is a beautiful luxurious fabric. It delights me to watch the dyes dance across it as I create each new piece, and I never cease to be enthralled when I see a finished garment as it flows and shimmers from the wearer’s movement.
