Artist Statement: “In the beginning God created…and so must I."


Born and reared in Nashville, N.C., Pat studied at Meredith College for two years before transferring to Barton College where she earned her B.S. Degree in Art Education and later a B.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education. She spent her public school teaching career in the Nash/Rocky Mount Schools teaching Kindergarten and Art Education.

Exercising her art skills mostly in acrylic and clay, she also works in fabric dying and photography. Her painting revolves mostly around scenes she photographs during her travels, here and abroad. However, she does portraits on a regular basis also. Working in an impressionistic style in her landscapes and still life renderings, she leans more to the realistic when doing portraits.


Since one of her loves is theater, demonstrating art and it’s many facets is a real joy for her. Pat sings, speaks, and does potter’s wheel, sculptural, and painting demos at conventions, seminars, churches, clubs and small group settings all over the state throughout the year. Since retiring, she is now a resident at Studio One, an artists’ co-op in Wilson, N.C., where she creates and displays her art work. Her work can be found in private and corporate collections across the state and the eastern seaboard of the U.S. and she is associated with a number of galleries in eastern North Carolina.

Believing that God has given her talents in the art field to promote the work of His Kingdom, Pat travels about illustrating the work of the “Master” with her varies artistic skills. She is available for bookings at 252-237-3430 or kpmontgomery@myglnc.com.
